Estimator Hard Landscaping
Job Description:
You will play a key role in the team and will have the responsibility of compiling and producing competitive tenders for various clients, including main contractors. Your role will involve managing, developing, and securing hard and soft landscaping works. You will also be expected to collaborate closely with the Operations teams, Pre Construction Manager, and Directors to drive growth, profitability, and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- To complete tender projects, utilising issued bills of quantities, construction plans and specifications within the required time frame
- To produce take offs and produce internal BOQ and quote packs
- Awareness and identify Risks in terms of Construction details or programme
- To source supply chain prices
- To carry out time critical tendering
- Client management – Identify RFI’s with solutions that will need to be brought to the clients attention at tender stage.
- Lead time and deadline management – Communicate with the client to ensure that they are fully aware of the progress within the tender stage deadlines.
- Budget management – Maintain margins set by the Podium Divisional Manager and Directors.
- Concise and detailed Project Handovers with the Operations Team and Commercial Team
- Attend site visits when requested and when necessary to secure projects
- Maintain relationships with Existing clients & seek out and build new relationships
- Adhere to company standards
- To play an active key role in settling bids in conjunction with the Podium Divisional Manager.
- Protecting the company at all times

Technical Skills
Qualifications
- Degree, relevant professional qualification or equivalent (desirable)
Experience
- A minimum of five years’ (or equivalent) practical work experience as an Estimator in the Landscape or Construction industry.
- Experience of estimating systems is desired although training will be given where required.
- Experience in the landscaping sector
- Experience working in Design Development along side Landscape Architects
- Experience in Podium construction
- Assessing levels of Risk on each project
- Ability to improve margin on a project
- Experience & knowledge of the industry
Knowledge
- Good commercial and contractual knowledge of common contracts used in the industry such as NEC and JCT
- A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes is essential.
- Knowledge of hard and soft landscaping elements
- Knowledge in Podium construction
- Preferable good knowledge of Tree & Shrubs

Additional Requirements

Essential Car User
- This role requires the post holder to be an Essential Car User, hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle

- This role requires the post holder to work occasional evenings and weekends
