Position Available:

Experienced Landscaper:

We are looking for an experienced landscape to lead a small team to run projects to our very high standards. The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate experience in hard and soft landscaping.

We require a person who is enthusiastic and takes pride in their work with high attention to detail and finish. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good organisational and communication skills.

Experience:

This is a hands-on position, and applicants will need to demonstrate skills and good competency in the following:

 paving  brick laying  block work  rendering  decking  fencing  turfing  planting bed preparation

Candidates will need to have experience of operating plant machinery (up to 3T), surveying sites and working directly from scaled design plans.

All applicants must have a high level of fitness and be presentable and polite (this is a client facing position). It is preferable that the candidate has a full and clean driving license.

Working hours: 8am - 4.30pm

Job description : Resource management Responsibiity for overseeing the allocation of manpower, equipment and materials to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency on site. Develop project schedules, workflows and proceedures to streamline operations and maximise productivity

Supply (chain) management Work closely with material suppliers, hired in plant companies, specialist manufacturers, and sub contractors, to ensure timely delivery and minimise cost

Fleet management To ensure all company vehicles are routinely serviced and MOT'd. Ensure daily maintenance checks on company vehiles and hired in vehicles and machinery. Keep an inventory. Insuring hired-in fleet vehicles

Equipment management To ensure all company equpment servicing is kept up to date and safe for use. Keep an inventory of company tools with serial numbers Manage Repairs via agreed suppliers Source quotations for new machinery purchases - to be signed off by a Director. Seek updated cost lists from Hire suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and update estimate template.

Compliance and Risk management Develop and implement policies and proceedures to mitigate risk. Ensure compliance to Health and Safety Regulations on site, in the office and in vehicles. Role to develop as new H&S package is adopted.

Specific roles: Scheduling Scheduling projects, long term and daily. Ensure new projects are entered into long term schedule Produce weekly scehdules for Landscape teams and deligation of individuals to each project. Projects Correct allowance of hired in machinery/plant for each project Materials delivered to site on time. Pre ordering of materials where required, to allow for manufacture and delivery Control and organise the deligation of labour to ensure best use of individual skills and general efficiency on site. Ensure all snagging is noted and undertaken Pre project meeting with the foreman constructing each site.

Client Communcation with client prior to start, during and sign off at end of project. Ensure clients are informed of any changes during the project End of week reports for clients 1st point of communication with clients on all matters pertaining to the site. Refer to Project Lead for design enquiries.

Office Assist, when required, with drawing up Invoice Summaries for the Accounts Dept. (Accounts to initiate requirement for invoicing information) Take part in weekly Operations meetings Keep Actions Log, Pre Project, Material Orders, Snagging tabs up to date to keep operations running efficiently. Snagging list to be kept up to date and implemented as soon as possible.

Staff reviews Assist a company Director with staff reviews. Three month review for new starts and annual for long term employees. Keep records of all reviews. Report to company Directors with any specific training / career development requests. Implement as agreed.

Health and Safety Liase with outsourced Health and Saftey advisers. Create a Health and safety policy. Undertake review of current policy for site work, office work and company vehicles. Establish correct procedures and implement. Foremen to assist with implementation on site. Health and Safety Training to be undertaken to achieve at least minimum certification.

You will be required to work outwith these roles at times and work with all departments to ensure the successful operations of the company
