Job Description

Irrigation Maintenance Manager –

A full-time Irrigation Maintenance Manager is required based in St Albans, offering a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

This growing and innovative company specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of smart lighting and irrigation systems and is looking to recruit a motivated individual to join their expanding team.

The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, modern solutions using the latest products and technologies. They are passionate about customer satisfaction and pride themselves on providing a reliable, professional and forward-thinking service. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and organised Irrigation Maintenance Manager to support their clients and systems.

This role would suit someone who is confident communicating with clients, highly organised, and enjoys a hands-on approach to system monitoring, servicing and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicating clearly and professionally with clients

  • Keeping customers informed of system alerts, faults, or required repairs

  • Providing updates and practical advice during site visits

  • Managing your own daily workload, schedule and site visits efficiently

  • Planning maintenance routes and responding to ad-hoc call-outs when required

  • Monitoring irrigation systems daily using platforms such as Hydrawise and Linktap

  • Identifying faults, unusual activity, or performance issues and taking proactive action

  • Carrying out seasonal system start-ups (spring commissioning)

  • Completing system shut-downs and winterisation processes

  • Performing regular maintenance visits for contracted customers

  • Testing irrigation zones, checking coverage, and adjusting schedules and run times

  • Inspecting system components including valves, heads, drip lines, sensors and pressure levels

  • Updating customer records, notes and service logs following each visit

  • Supporting the installation team during quieter winter periods

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in irrigation system servicing, maintenance and fault-finding

  • Knowledge of smart irrigation systems (Hydrawise and Linktap desirable but not essential)

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • The ability to work independently and manage their own schedule

  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking and growing business where you can develop your skills and play a key role in delivering high-quality service to clients.

To apply for this role, please submit your CV along with a covering letter.
