Main Duties

• Develop the business sales and marketing strategy.

• Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, and customers.

• Seek out the appropriate contact in new organisations.

• Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.

• Meet with potential customers/clients face to face or over the phone.

• Foster and develop relationships with potential customers/clients.

• Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.

• Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business.

• Have a sound understanding of the businesses' services and be able to advise others about them.

• Train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate.

• Liaise with other departments as appropriate.

• Attend seminars, conferences and networking events where appropriate.

• Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.

• Help to plan sales campaigns.

• Create a sales pipeline.

• Increase sales of the business to meet annual sales targets.

• Carry out win/loss analysis and present your findings to senior management.

• Creating and undertaking tender presentations.

• Completion of multi-site portfolio bids.

• Any other tasks as deemed necessary by management.

Extent of Responsibilities/Authority

• No purchase orders to be signed for HD/Contract Purchases

• No purchase authority for Overhead Purchases

• No Client contracts to be signed over £50,000

• No Supplier contracts to be signed over £5,000 – must state 30 day termination.

• Not able to dismiss an Employees.

• IOSH Managing Safely

• Broad management experience in relevant industry.

• Various internal training
